During the Boer War, 1900, British soldiers were running from a lion through an open grass field toward a single-trunk tree shouting, “Kiepersol, Kiepersol, Kiepersol!” The Boers who witnessed the soldiers climb to safety named the tree “ Kiepersol.”
Years later, they realized the soldiers were actually yelling, “ We hope the tree will keep us all.”
We have thus adopted the tree as our symbol, because we strive to keep everyone that comes to us in comfort and show each guest the extraordinary pleasures of life. |
